You are required to automatically enrol eligible employees into a workplace pension scheme. But what’s the position if one of your employees wants to opt out of auto-enrolment?

An eligible employee can opt out of pensions auto-enrolment once enrolled (they can’t stop this process beforehand). Once notified, the pension provider makes then necessary arrangements. An opt out isn’t permanent, it only lasts for three years at which point they must be re-enrolled but can opt out again.
