All adult workers are entitled to a daily uninterrupted rest break of eleven hours plus a further 24 hours’ uninterrupted rest in each seven-day work period. Does the law say when the 24-hour rest period must be taken?
The law doesn’t stipulate when the 24-hour rest period is to be taken. It can be at the end of the seven-day work period or during it. Alternatively, it can be averaged over a 14-day period, and the worker either given two uninterrupted periods of not less than 24 hours rest or one period of 48 hours’ rest.
